Victorian Walnut Inlaid Sewing or Jewellery Box With Blue Silk Lining With Key
Beautiful Late Victorian Jewellery or sewing box.
c.1890.
Made from walnut with attractive inlaid design on either side and on the top.
There is the original key with working lock.
The interior in lined with blue silk with a secret compartment behind that opens by a small dial catch.
Fitted lift out tray with a large compartment underneath.
Felt base.
Wonderful rich patina to the wood.
In good antique condition with age related wear and scratches the exterior. There is some wear to the inlaid decoration and some small chips to the edges. Interior there is a crack to the base but doesn’t effect the box. Please bare in mind the box is over 100 years old and has a past history. Its not pristine as you would find a new or reproduction one.
